This is one of my favorite books of all time!
Style: Historical Fiction- Scotland -1600s
Plot: Believable and Fast Paced
Characters: Mostly men. All the female characters are just set dressing. Don't take it the wrong way this was written before the Bechdel Test by a man so you really can't expect better. However Davy, Half-Hanged Smyth and Hogg are a fun band of rascals that you will want to succeed against all the odds.
Things i really liked: Immersion into a part of history I know very little about given my American education. Cromwell and his overthrow of the British Government is not something I know much of. Davy and his little band are realistic characters who cause as much trouble as they solve.
