Employers of 1000s of local people. Explicit information on the Armco Steel Mill and local Iron Ore furnaces that were mined. From the Argillite Furnace, the first in the area in 1818, to Armco's Amanda furnace in 1962. Armco became AK Steel and dismantled during the early 2020s. All furnaces are unoperable w/just a few stones remaining. I myself was a third generation to work at Armco then becoming AK Steel (Armco Kawasaki merge).
